The 2022 Insider Threat Virtual Conference, hosted jointly by the Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA), Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE), and the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security (OUSD(I&S)), will bring security professionals and policy makers across the U.S. Government and industry together to kick off the National Insider Threat Awareness Month (NITAM) campaign. This year’s theme is “Critical Thinking in Digital Spaces.”

 

The 2022 Insider Threat Virtual Conference features senior level speakers and panelists who will present on critical thinking for the workforce, social engineering threats, an insider threat case study, and resources for workforce resiliency to counter insider risk.

Audience:  Up to 3,000 Insider Threat practitioners, and counterintelligence and security professionals from the Department of Defense, Federal Agencies, private industry, critical infrastructure sectors, and academia.

 

Location:  Virtual sessions will be available through Adobe Connect online platform.  You will receive the direct link to access the conference after you register.

 

Classification:  This conference is UNCLASSIFIED.  Classified and FOUO/controlled unclassified information (CUI) will NOT be presented or discussed.

1.  Who may attend the 2022 Insider Threat Virtual Security Conference?

Insider Threat practitioners, and counterintelligence and security professionals from the Department of Defense, Federal Agencies, private industry, critical infrastructure sectors, and academia.  Space is limited, so register early.

 

2.  How will I know I am registered?

You will receive an email confirmation once you register.  

 

3.  What will I need to access the conference?

You will need a computer or mobile device, internet connection, and the email and password you used during registration. You will receive an email with the direct link to the conference and phone conferencing information in a reminder email closer to the event.

 

4.  What are the system requirements?

You can access the conference from any computer as long as you have an Internet connection and a current HTML5 browser. Alternatively, you may access the event with the Adobe Connect application. For more detailed information about the Adobe Connect web conferencing application see the Adobe Connect Getting Started page.

 

We have setup a test Adobe Connect room that is an actual virtual room on CDSE Adobe Connect. To test your connection: enter your name into the Guest box, select "Enter Room", review the Terms of Use, and select "OK".

You may test your system connection in various browsers (e.g. Firefox, Chrome).

 

5.  What are the video and audio requirements?

In order to accommodate various audience participation and bandwidth concerns, audio for the conference will be available through Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and a separate phone conferencing service.

 

For VoIP, you will be listening through your computer or mobile device speakers.  Remember to unmute and adjust your computer or mobile device speaker volume accordingly.  If you experience technical issues with VoIP, please use the separate phone conferencing service.

 

For phone conferencing service, simply dial the conference line provided in the virtual room.

While not always necessary, some tips for maximizing the conference connection performance include the following:

  • Closing all other open applications
  • Disabling popup blocking
  • Clearing the Internet browser’s cache

6. How many PDUs will I earn for attending this conference?

Participants will earn 4 PDUs for conference participation. Speakers will earn 5 PDUs per presentation but no more than 25 PDUs for this event. More information about recording PDUs can be found at https://www.cdse.edu/certification/maintain-sped.html

 

7.  Will I receive a certificate of attendance for this conference?

No.  A certificate of attendance is not required to record PDUs earned. An email confirming attendance or a registration email may be used instead.
